Australia
Australia, with its capital Canberra, is the sixth largest country in the world and home to about 26 million people. It is located in Oceania, surrounded by the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The official language is English.
The climate varies from tropical in the north to deserts in the centre and even snowy mountains in the south–east. Australia is famous for its unique wildlife (kangaroos, koalas, platypuses), the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, and over 10,000 beaches. About a quarter of Australians were born overseas, making it a multicultural society. Fun fact: Australians invented Wi–Fi!
