It was my birthday, and my uncle handed me a thin envelope. ‘What is it?’, I asked. He told (1) me to open it carefully and he warned me (2) not to tear it. There were two concert tickets inside for Taylor Swift. I couldn’t believe it! – she must be the world’s greatest performer ever! I was amazed. My mum reminded me (3)to thank my uncle, which did.
The concert was on Saturday, and I couldn’t sleep. I was so excited! All my friends (4) told me to take a lot of photos. However, my mum advised me (5) not to take my phone and she told (6) me to watch out for pickpockets in the crowds.
When we got to the venue, they told (7) us to wait in the queue for a security check. My uncle told me to (8) be patient. And then we were in! I knew the show was three hours’ long and I wondered if I’d get bored. Everyone told me (9) not to worry and they were right! I was fascinated from start to finish. Taylor Swift’s performance was incredible, the costumes were beautiful, and they used the whole stage. After the concert finished, we didn’t want to leave but then the security staff asked us (10) to leave. What an evening!
