1. What do you know about the population of Ukraine? Ukraine’s population is about 37–38 million. Most people live in cities. Ukrainians are the main ethnic group. 2. What about the climate and natural resources of Ukraine? Which part of Ukraine is famous for its coal mines? The climate is temperate continental. Ukraine has many resources like coal, gas, and iron. The Donbas region is famous for coal mines. 3. Which regions (oblasts) have you visited? I’ve visited Lviv, Kyiv, and Odesa regions. Each is unique and beautiful. 4. What do you know about the Carpathians? The Carpathians are in western Ukraine. Hoverla (2061 m) is the highest peak. They are known for forests and ski resorts. 5. Where is Lake Svitiaz? Lake Svitiaz is in Volyn Oblast. It’s the deepest and cleanest lake in Ukraine. 6. What do you know about the Dnipro? The Dnipro is Ukraine’s main river. It flows through Kyiv to the Black Sea and is important for transport and energy. 7. Which part of Ukraine has a subtropical climate? The southern coast of Crimea has a subtropical climate with warm winters and hot summers.
