UKRAINE’S GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION
Ukraine is a rich farming and industrial country in Eastern Europe. It borders Belarus and Russia in the north and in the east. It is washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. In the west, Ukraine borders Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. In the southwest, it is bordered by Moldova and Romania. Ukraine has an ideal geographical position for the development of its resources.
The climate is moderate and continental, with a warm summer and a cold winter.
Together with its fertile black soil, this makes it ideal for agriculture. The territory of Ukraine is crossed by railways and motorways, and pipelines and high–voltage transmission lines. All of these ensure close economic ties with other countries.
