1. You and two friends, Nick and Joe, are going to make a cake for your teacher. Read the messages and complete them with the phrases in the box.

Hi, we need to make the cake for Mr Yates. Are you free tomorrow evening? If you are, (1) how about making a chocolate cake? Everybody likes chocolate cake; it’s quite easy and I’ve got a good recipe. (2) Why don’t you come to my place to make the cake? And (3) could one of you get the ingredients tomorrow, please? I’m busy all day. I’ll send you the recipe. Nick.
Hi Nick, yes, I’m free tomorrow evening. (4) I’m not sure about making a chocolate cake. It’s a bit boring. How about making a pineapple and coconut cake? I’ve got a great recipe. Sorry, but I haven’t got time to get the ingredients tomorrow. (5) It’s a good idea to make the cake at your place. Your kitchen is nice and big. Joe.
