7.Work in pairs.

a)Imagine that you’re Ginny and speak about your interestin art and the first impression of your mother’s picture.

My first impression of mother`s picture was unpredictable even for me. I have never felt such interest in painting. I thought it is only some drawing and there is nothing special in it and everyone can do it. But I was wrong. The picture amazed me and I realized that it is a big peace of work.

b)Speak about a strong impression a particular pictureonce made on you. Describe the picture.

Once surfing the net I came across a very unusual picture and it was a sudden intake of breath, caused by sheer surprise at the arrangement of shapes. It was a physical shock. It would have affected me the same way whoever had painted it, because it was a masterpiece. Later I knew that it was "Portrait of Daniel–Henri Kahnweiler" by Pablo Picasso, painted in 1910 in genre of Analytical Cubism. At first glance, I could understand nothing in this two–colored mess of lines and geometric figures. It looked for me like a strange labyrinth. I was right as Picasso pretended to describe the inside world of his friend and to show that the variety of the ways of the labyrinth reflects different sides of the human soul. Firstly I couldn't see any human shape in it, but, surprisingly, in a few seconds these vague line sturned into a man's figure. I could recognize a smiling face with a careful haircut, dressed in a classical suit. He seemed to be shy and embarrassed. I caught myself thinking that it was impossible to put together differently would have been another picture, which would have lost its individuality, but put together like this, they made me catch my breath. It was amazing, brilliant!
