6.In groups, discuss the following items.

1. What makes good art? Do you think art can be great if it is not linked with people’s lives, their interests and ideals? Give your reasons. I think good art is something that attracts people. Without people nobody will say that the art is good. It is the thing which somebody should like. We do something for somebody. 2. How does art help us understand the outside world? Every author describes in his the world which he see. Every person sees it in his or her own way. 3. What purpose does a true art serve? Share your opinions: Real art appeals to the heart and mind of man, to his feelings and ideals and it proclaims life. Art is life, pretence of art is death. Only few people can be artists. Not everybody can tell through the pictures or music what they want to say. It is all go from their heart. Only talented people can achieve success. 5. True art elevates the mind and the soul of people. The arts in general have the potential to do this, although all arts certainly don't accomplish this in the case of every single individual. They do so primarily for two reasons. First, they have the capacity to communicate on a level that is non–linear, different and beyond the level of words, in the way the brain actually comprehends things at its deepest levels. Before anything can be discovered, or even used, it must first be imagined, be pictured. Furthermore, all of our most cherished beliefs – love, hope, faith, loyalty, etc. – cannot be fully expressed in words. Yet we can gain a closer sense of them through imagery, music, etc. Therefore music and art can – and are – used for exploration, motivation and the inspiration of humanity. Second, the arts serve as a mirror of of humanity – a record of its accomplishments, failures and strivings. It shows us where we have been, where we are and intimates to us where we are headed. This panorama, viewed in its entirety (or even in snippets) cannot be anything but profoundly inspirational. No matter what, we keep on keeping on.
