We are proud of the Art Gallery in the city. We are proud of the fact, that Liverpool is known as the city where the Beatles started. I’m proud of our famous football team Manchester United.
b) Sum up the facts and explain why the citizens are proud of Birmingham, Liverpool, Aberdeen and Manchester. Use the scheme:
Birmingham. First of all, Birmingham is an industrial city. It’s also a centre of music and the arts. That's why citizens are proud of their city.
Liverpool. First of all, Liverpool is the third largest industrial city in Great Britain. Besides, it is a centre of pop music. It is also the city where the Beatles were born.
Aberdeen. First of all, it is the number one oil centre of Scotland. Besides, Aberdeen is a cultural centre, too.
Manchester. First of all, Manchester is the cultural and financial center of the north–west of England. Besides, the famous football team Manchester United plays here.
