Board Game Fun!
Have you ever participated in a board game tournament? On Friday, 3 June, people of all ages had the chance to do so by taking part in On the Board! The event took place at the Stars and Cups café to raise money for endangered animals, and I was happy to be part of it.
The idea was simple: the organisers held a twelve-hour marathon of playing board games in tournaments. Anyone who wanted to participate had to pay an entrance fee of £10 and bring snacks with them to share. My friends and I took pizzas and juices.
The atmosphere was friendly, and everyone seemed to be having fun! At every table, you could see participants getting to know each other, all of them enjoying themselves.
At the end of the day, we were thrilled to realise we had raised a little over £2,000 for animals in danger! After all, who can say no to fun and games?
For me, the event was a total success! I made some new friends and played games I hadn’t played before. I would gladly participate in a similar event in the future and will definitely try to play a bigger role in helping out charities.
