6. Discuss in small groups the public holidays in Ukraine. If you were a president what holidays would you change? Give your reasons.

Public holidays in Ukraine are important because they show our history, culture and traditions. People celebrate New Year’s Day, Women’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, Constitution Day and Defender’s Day. These holidays help people remember important events and spend time with their families.
If I were a president, I would not cancel any holidays. I would keep Independence Day and Defender’s Day because they are very important for the country. I might add one more day to celebrate Ukrainian culture, traditions and language, because it helps people love and respect Ukraine.
